Fine Art Painter. Sculptor.
“My pieces reflect a realism inspired by both our everyday environment and the influence of my domestic and international travels. My art is presented in a primitive fashion, leaving a portion to the viewer’s imagination. I work to interweave the feel of contemporary with a touch of fantasy. Personal moods and feelings come forth, sometimes dominated by subtle humor, with all this usually being suitable to a variety of styles or periods.”
— George Elliott
George Charles Elliott 1940-2014
An adventurous, self-taught artist drawn to nature, animals, travels & automobiles, George loved spending time expressing himself through his gift of creativity. He had a studio in Noblesville, White River Studio, and one at his house in Sedona, AZ. His interests included nature and the outdoors, people, animals, hiking, music, and the ISO. He especially enjoyed orangutans and spent time in Borneo studying, befriending & researching them. George painted with four close artist friends for over 20 years every Tuesday at White River Studio, and was a season-ticket holder with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra for over 25 years. Anyone who knew George loved him for his kind heart, toothy laugh and his gentle giant spirit. He shared his love of the world through his bright, colorful interpretations of nature, people and the world around him.
